This has got to be the wettest Spring/Summer in at least 5 years. Usually, by now, everything is starting to turn brown for the summer, but we’ve still got a lot of green going on. here’s what the WB picture looks like…
The local doppler radar shows the wet activity around us…
And the SATRAD shows our regional picture…
It looks like we will continue to have weather and the 5-day outlook proves it…
Now, for you history buffs, the bird knows all......
REMEMBER?????????

I hate to say it but today looks like a carbon copy of yesterday with some heavy rain, and severe T-storms headed this way. Radar indicates some T-storms just to our west. The storm prediction center puts us again under the threat of heavy rain and severe T-storms, with even the possibility of a tornado. This has not been a normal spring and start to the summer for us at all. Hope is that the 4th of July will be a good day.

Well we started July out fairly typical, with sunny, warm temps through mid afternoon then some evening showers- with scattered thunderstorms, some severe in the area, but not at my station.
Total precip today was 0.17”. High temp was 86.5° low temp 64.8° obs temp tonight was 67.1° with pressure rising at 29.75”.
Tomorrow should have less of a chance at showers and storms, but they can’t be ruled out completely. At first glance, the holiday weekend looks to be dry, but that could certainly change. Perhaps a better chance of showers on Friday, but then over the actual weekend reasonable chance at it being dry and seasonable.
Currently on radar not much, just some very light echoes and also big storms exiting to the E and NE… Temp is now (2:08 AM EDT) at 66.2° with pressure down a bit at 29.74” under cloudy skies.
Kevin the walrus of Gaithersburg MD signing off for the evening.
